Hats by Madame Paulette

A new book unearths the story of Madame Paulette, the milliner favoured by Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich, fought over by Richard Avedon and William Klein, and largely forgotten in recent years.

Materiel by Aleksandre Akhalkatsishvili Fall 2014

In my opinion, real designers always send some message with their clothing. For me fashion is divided in two ways, business and art. Business means making focus on commercial part and art is the way to express the feeling, the protest, the idea, conception in a creative way. For me, Aleksandre Akhalkatsishvili is a designer, which is oriented on art.  Conception of the collection was war happened in 2008 between Georgia and Russia. Designer amazingly expressed with clothing the way how Georgians feel about lost locations. Used accessories like belt, earrings and necklaces similar like wire entanglement. Collection was in dark colors like black, grey and it's normal. When you really have pain, you can't express it in a colorful way. I loved the styling also. Hairstyle, music, catwalk. Also want to emphasize footwear, which is really very commercial at the same time.
I am really happy having such talented designers!!!

Mariam Gvasalia Fall 2014

Sporty Chic for Fall 2014 from Mariam Gvasalia, who debuted at Tbilisi fashion week. Mariam is a very young and beginner designer. I loved the idea, how she mixed sporty and very chic, materials, textures, lace with very rude fabrics.  Designer presented both feminine and masculine shapes in a different ways.  As designer mentioned in backstage, inspiration came from numbers, because numbers are really important in our life. What i like the most in her style, is that she is risky and free, loves experiments.
I want also to emphasize that she is N1 designer, sorry sneakers designer in Georgia, for me ( for sure in this case) !
Congratulations my dear, your debut was amazing!

TFW Fall 2014 Day 1

Tbilisi Fashion Week Fall 2014 was opened with Atelier Kikala fashion show. It is the only third season for the brand which is already very successful. Creative director Lado Bokuchava is more focused on minimalism and interesting shapes. What i like the most is that, designer emphasizes his style, view which is really important for the brand to be memorable. What i love with this brand is that  at the same time, collection is very different from the previous ones, with interesting and unpredictable details, patterns, silhouettes.  As a young designer, Lado is very risky and creative. The most precious thing with this brand is that, almost all the pieces are handmade,  shoes are hand-painted and so on. How about the fabrics and colors? Oh, J'adore the pink pieces.
Proud to have such designer!
